I'm glad they have "pre-ordering" for the iPhone 4S. This will be the last time I'll have to set an alarm for 2am so I'll be ready to (try to) pounce at 3:01 and get an order in for delivery in the first wave. Next time... Siri will set the alarm for me. :)

I'm setting mine for 2:45 and I'm hoping to be snoring again by 3:15. Hopefully the servers hold up this time.

It's 12:00 PST so it would be 2:00 CT & 3:00 EST correct?

I hope so, but I wouldn't count on it.

Was there an official word that it would start at 3:00 am Eastern Time? In the years past it would start basically whenever Apple damn well felt like opening the gates.

In February, the preorders started about 10 minutes early. I'll be in front of my Mac at 2:50 AM. :)

So, if I tried to preorder when I wake up for work at 5am EST would I be too late?

You'll probably be fine. What time do you have to leave for work? The servers might be bogged-down.
