alarm

    in iPhone's clock app we see if i set alarm and exit the app we get alartm in alert message. How is this happening, given that iPhone does not have alarm system exposed ? can i do similar thing in my application ?

    Probably because the Clock app is Apple's own and does allow some kind of "in the background" process, which other alarm clocks are not allowed, thus they have to run in order to work.

    Was that what you were talking about?

    Also a more descriptive thread title could help get the knowledgeable audience in your thread.

    The developers at Apple have access to a whole bunch of stuff that we don't, via private APIs.
    No, not using the public APIs.

    It's an Apple provided application: it has access to private frameworks. You cannot do the same in your own application.
