Album sorting is a mess!

Between top albums and albums category, they are both a mess!

Would it have been so hard for Apple to just sort by year and have a separate category for compilation/singles?

Heck sometimes I can't even find an album under the artist until I search the album separately.

Yup, confirmed, it is a mess. One of the reasons why I can't understand why on Earth didn't they just use iTunes Store interface.
