So for chrissakes, get rid of him so this war can be finished! I'm SICK of the whole thing!

When Saddam's gone, that's when the real fun begins.

I should say if, because, as in the case with Osama, Bush is trying to make this war not be about getting rid of one person. He's de-emphasised the importance of capturing or killing Saddam, saying he is not the target, the weapons are. But now that we can't find the weapons... I don't know. This war, its reasons and its outcome and conditions change everyday.

I agree with you, though. I'm sick of it too.

even if there is no weapons of mass distraction, some will have to be found for dubbya to save face. dubbya got rid of one dictator and two prime ministers. the war will be won. the peace has been well and truly lost.

On the other hand, I think there's ample evidence that our attempts at stamping out terrorism are provoking moderate Muslims to become more militant, and almost certainly provoking militant muslims to become terrorists. It's a completely different dynamic.

Isn't this the point? What all these war-mongering oil-drinking megalomaniacs want is a continuous, nebulous threat so they can use a permanent "State of War" to erode all our liberties, invade anyone they want and silence all opposition? Seems to work very well here....

You guys obviously didn't watch the whole conference...when he was done speaking, the camera panned out and Saddam was hiding under the desk...

:D
