I've got the LG apparently. Just got it too, why would it have an inferior screen? I thought that's what everyone preferred, darn it. Thought I was lucky. How do you tell if they have this image retention thing? I don't notice anything. The screen is freakin' awesome though. I don't notice any yellow tint everyone else is complaining about. Weird.

i have a samsung i prefer the lg look

You going to the store to do this? Or do you have to ship it back? That is unfortunate... :(

It is a BTO so I can't just get another from my local Apple Store.

What has happened is Apple has already set me up a new order, my new one is coming Monday. They are also sending UPS to pick up this defective unit.

So not too bad, they aren't waiting to receive this defective unit before sending me my new one, the new one is already on its way.

Did they offer you expedited shipping (for free)? And maybe a SuperDrive for your troubles? :)

They did not. I'm in the UK though and we can't even select expedited shipping when we order our own machines so I guess they just don't offer it to my country.

I wasn't offered any accessories for free but I didn't really kick up a fuss about the problem I just want one that works properly.

yes your LG screen will be perfect out of the box...again, we've been through this. Image retention takes weeks and months to develop but rest assured that by the 6 month mark you will barely be able to use your laptop because it will be terrible.

I'd like to hear a report from someone with an LG screen over 1 year old that has zero issues.

My samsung is over a year old now and its still running strong!

----------

LG came out with a sja2 revised screen

perfect news, reports on it's performance?

Call me an idiot but I'm not gonna get burned twice by LG. They had their chance, I gave them a shot and got burned.

Burn me once, shame on them. Burn me twice, shame on me.

I don't think every LG screen made will have IR. My 30" Eizo I use at work is 5 years old and still is a perfect as the day I got it.
