i have widget wizard; good idea, but ugly (and, for me anyway, that matters). will check out 'dayhub'.
either way, great post! and thanks for the info...
EDIT: does dayhub work with apple's calendar? i see entries only when i click on the widget (in a new window). otherwise it just shows the date and the word "DayHub" in the middle of the widget (i did reboot)....
I think it should. Do reach out to the developer. He is pretty quick in his response (on e-mail at least).
I use Google Calendar that syncs with my Apple calendar app which then it it's turn shows in apps and widgets such as DayHub. It works fine for me.
I did ask the developer to add some features/improve it further:
- Remove the header with the current date 'wed 21' (since it is currentlyWednesday 21st of October) which doesn't make sense since it shows above all appointments including the ones in upcoming days.
- Change the font color of the day and time. I would like to see the date and time in a different color so it’s better to read especially in Dark Mode. Currently grey in black doesn’t work. Also the size of the date and time could be bigger. Either give the user the option or decide on a standard yourself.
- Add the option to indicate not only the day name 'Saturday' but also show the date so 'Saturday 24 Oct. or 'Monday 1 Nov.'
- I would love to see also buttons in the middle and bigger sized widgets to add an appointment in the calendar it or add a reminder with a click of a button
- With the middle sized widget I’m setting appointments up until Saturday but not my appointments from Monday (6 days ahead) while there is still room on the right hand sized two show two of these.
With that it seems there is a limitation in amount of days. I hope that limitation can be removed.
- Show travel time to a destination which my former widget could do: Agenda: Widget+ but that is no longer offered in the App Store nor does the existing widget work in iOS 14 or iOS 14.1 this might be a cool Pro feature to implement and work with the popular calendars such as Google Calendar (which I also use) or Apple’s own.
Btw I've added two other apps in my earlier post and AppRaven list (see also these two below). I especially like the clean UI of Calendar 366 but I haven't purchased it yet. Also the two widgets that shows a list only shows 3 appointment so it seems (based on screenshots in App Store). I've reached out to the developer if he could also create a widget to have 2 columns of only list view of calendar appointments (without the current date or month calendar in the widget. I'm also not sure if it will show all day events in the widget (although I have seen screenshots on Twitter with the old today view widget is able to). If so I might purchase it for the 6.99 euro it costs.
Also Fantastical calendar widget also offers an options of appointment in a list although it forces to show todays date even if there is no appointment in it and I see alot of empty space where another appointment from 4 days ahead could be. The UI and weather feature from AccuWeather is pretty cool though.
The other app WidgetCal has a week calendar option but the UI is pretty ugly and doesn't show much details in the widget so not an options I think.

I started to add things of that nature as reminders rather than all-day calendar events (or sometimes basically as both).
Thanks for the suggestion I will look into that option as well. I prefer my calendar over reminders or alarm clocks though.
i prefer to keep everything simple, and in one place. plus, i find that when i schedule something, it generally gets done. but we all have our way of organizing our lives, so.... whatever works. 👍
I also prefer my calendar as one stop shop over having it in calendar, reminders and alarm clocks. My wife also recently pointed out to me if I could remove a few things (e.g. pick up the kids from school and such) from the calendar and instead set some alarm clocks for that. I did in the end.
