All-in-one photo printer w/ fax?

Hi,
My HP Officejet Pro 8500 wireless has been confirmed dead after warrantee expired. Looking for Mac-friendly inkjet all-in-one with fax for everyday printing plus home-artist projects like photo greetings cards on cardstock. I use a MacBook w/ OS 10.5.8. My architect & art director friends use Epson Artisan, and features sound impressive, but online reviews claim they are not Mac-friendly, paper trays seem flimsy and they jam frequently. Overwhelmed by online info. Can pay $200-$300 for reliable, versatile machine. Your experience, advice? Many, many thanks! 🙂

Based on my quick look at the Epson site, the Artisan does seem to be Mac compatible. They list it as a compatible operating system on the Artisan 710, so I would imagine the 725, 800, 810 and 835 would be as well (http://www.epson.ca/cgi-bin/ceStore/ProductCategory.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=-8182 - Just go under the individual printers, then click Specifications and look for the Operating Systems header).
