Crazy L.A.
Damned, what the hell!??? ALL of my iPhone Privacy settings were reset or changed somehow to where Frequent Locations was turned ON instead of OFF, along with all the so-called Analytics, also set to ON, the whole list was lit up like a Christmas tree.

What could cause something like this to happen? I did not install any new apps or did anything else different, unless connecting to a new car via CarPlay, which works great most of the time, counts.

I take extreme and continuous care of my Privacy settings, so I didn't "accidentally" turn a bunch of these settings to ON. Whenever I do updates to the OS or get a new phone, it's one of the first things I do: Make sure to turn off all the back doors, or at least the ones that they let me disable.

This is disturbing. :(

Is it possible someone borrowed your iPhone and accidentally Reset Location & Privacy? That would explain everything.

What? You don't trust apple :)

Of course not. Apple is a satanic company, evidenced by its new campus, its policies, and it sports one of the most occult logos of any major corporation. Now that's a fact.

Why don't I go elsewhere? For one, I'm thinking about it, but Apple just might be the best (read: least evil) of all the other "choices" that are given to us at the moment.

The reason we see so many mergers and acquisitions, which is really only a consolidation of power and cash, is to eliminate what little competition is left and to extract as much of our wealth as possible, before the powers that be plunge us into their own ADMITTED-to "post-industrial world".

Hey, and thanks for the reply. No, that's absolutely impossible. My iPhone is locked down and only used by me.

Only possible way would have been though an update but I have never seen it changed unless the user did so.

That's what I thought as well. I am trying to think what I could have done to bring this about. I just can't think of anything other than the time I set up CarPlay on a car that I hadn't used it on before. I remember being in the car and setting it up in a haste. Is it possible that in doing so, it might have reset the Privacy settings? I realize I'm grasping at straws here, but this is so unlike something that would happen to me.

I've used nothing but iPhones since the 3GS and this has NEVER happened to me.

Either an update reset it, or "Reset All Settings" was performed. Those are really the only things I could think of that would cause that.

Well alright then.

It is possible the CarPlay may have asked you to enable some of the location settings for use with Maps

I guess it could have been only that. The timing would co-incide as well.

As for this comment, you can laugh at the truth if it makes you feel better. Once the whole thing comes down, you won't be laughing anymore.

Well it's certainly no coincidence that in Latin "malum" means both "evil" and "apple"!

The symbolism connected with both the logo and the name of the company is ripe with interesting interpretational possibilities. If you're into that kind of thing, that is.
