iPod touch all my songs deleted...but not really?

I plugged my iPod in today, and all the songs were erased, but it still shows 30 GB of space taken up (the amount I had of songs/etc.) and I checked the hidden folders and all my music is still on the iPod. What happened?

happened to me before on my iPhone.

In the final stage of writing the songs to the iPod they undergo a quick check

Re sync your iPod and they will appear again

Basic problem with iTunes 10 and above
