90% of people won’t even read these even tho they may care the best chance they have is to opt out when prompted. Unless those apps don’t work if people opt out in that case most will opt in :-/

I've never seen that when sharing a YouTube video via iMessage. It just shows the title and thumbnail of the video as it does on the YouTube site itself.

I sent a YouTube video to a friend yesterday via iMessage and have seen the same-don’t recall seeing it before 14.5.

Wonder what data they’ll collect when they add the Privacy info to Snapseed? 🤔

I'll have to wait until 14.5 is released to see if I get that. Currently running 14.4.2 since I don't have any devices that are good candidates for beta testing that don't need to remain stable.

More jerk behaviour by them.

At this point I just have Chrome for Google stuff. Youtube and managing my google business account.

Otherwise I'm in Firefox with DuckDuckGo as my search choice. Along with Privacy Badger and Ublock Origin to minimize tracking.

These privacy labels are really useless in reality. Ok, so we now know what kind of data Google collects. So what can we do about it? Nothing. Chances are, we will just continue using these Google apps as before. Even if we really want to stop using Google apps, the reality is that Google has become too embedded in our lives over the years. Want to stop using Gmail? Well that's going to be very hard considering the rest of the competition (Yahoo mail, outlook etc) is all crap. These privacy labels are just a slap in our faces that tells us how much we are being spied on by Google, but there really is no practical way for us to react to it (of course this is not Apple's fault at all).

But kudos to Apple for taking another step to protect our privacy - definitely appreciate it. The real game-changer would be iOS 14.5 with Ad Tracking Permission - then we can actually take steps to stop these companies from invading us.

If its so 'embedded' into your life that you can't make the effort to walk away from it....don't know what to say. Maybe it's time for an Intervention? One good sign I've noticed: how small this thread actually is....a very good sign!

I must say that MR articles are artfully designed to withhold just the right amount of information and I think this aids in development of computing skills of readers since they are required to either search for the (craved) information themselves or read more using links MR generously provides.

Wow. This is exactly like eating McDonalds. We all know it’s crap but taking a look at the ingredients. (Shudders).
Might be time for a dumb phone. Maybe even routine burners.

I myself only really use 4 Google technologies, but if you look at a daily use basis only 2.

Those technologies would include:
YouTube
Gmail
Google Search
Google assistant

I have set Firefox to use Duck Duck Go, and so far, I have no complaints YouTube I use daily, as do I Gmail. Google assistant is used when I use my Nest Audio, or Google Home (for music mostly) Sometimes smart home stuff, but I prefer Alexa for the above.
I have Google photos and Drive but rarely use those, so when talking about daily usage for me, it's YouTube, and Gmail. I also use iCloud for email and other things. So Gmail is primary email, and iCloud is secondary.
