All of sudden avatars not showing

There is an issue with avatars and while many members are not seeing any issues, others such as myself seem to be affected.

The admin staff is aware of the issue and hopefully they'll have it resolved shortly.

Noticed this as well--and also confirmed it was a server error by opening the avatar pic in a new tab--which generated an internal server error.
 
It appears that the problem is present those of us in the New England area. A friend in Michigan is not experiencing the problem at all. I know that maflynn is a neighbor near Boston, and I'm just South of Boston, and at least one other I know of is in this area and experiencing the problem.

I don't know if MR can do anything, or if it a problem of our local graphic server (or whatever you call it!)

As of this writing...the problem continues...:(

EDIT: Sorry, I just noticed that it is not restricted to my area...but seems to be elsewhere, too.
 
The forum links to http://cdn.macrumors.com which in turn does a file_gets_content() on the same file at https://forums.macrumors.com, which fails.
What happens:

What should happen:

Change it to the forums subdomain then fix the cdn and switch back maybe?

Of course but a mod already said admins were working on it so I didn't think I needed to repeat it.
 
Should be fixed now, although may take a bit to fully come back...thanks for your patience during these trying times. ;)
 
we cleared the cache, so they should be back soon if they aren't back already
