I was just wondering if people were no longer seeing any issues with Power Nap on their 16" MacBooks after installing 10.15.5? Mine has been behaving itself since I reset the SMC but I did notice something interesting with the power consumption of the Radeon Core in iStat. It would appear the power draw has dropped since I installed 10.15.5 this morning (you can see the gap in the chart when the installation occurred). Not sure if something has changed or if this is just a coincidence?

I can almost assure the same.

My Mac is definitely running cooler after this update when connecting an external display.
Previously it didn't take more than 2-3 minutes for the fans to run like crazy.

Right now they last at 2500RPM for 15-30 minutes, and then go to 3500RPM, and stay there.

Where can I see that graph?

Yup, my 16 inch mac is also running cooler when connected to an external monitor with this update.
My usual workload runs around 62 to 68 degrees celsius, after the update running around 53 to 60.

Totally.
It's been another 30 minutes connected. And fans have stayed below 3000RPM and CPU temp at 60C.

And this is running one Virtual Machine, Chrome, Safari, Excel, Affinity Designer, Coda 2 and running SQL queries.

This gives me hope that in the next update they will be able to improve and really keep the machine quiet.

EDIT: And this is in a room without AC and currently at 26C. Lid open.

Zero differences for me. Still 60°C and 3000RPM with the dGPU at 18W while just browsing with only a 1440p@60hz attached.

Can you really hear fans at 3000RM, I can barely hear them.
I'm getting the same results as you right now, temp stays between 55-60C.

But before the update, my fans went to 4500RPM or more. And temps were at least 5C higher.
And this was with the machine completely idle. Right now I can use my MBP as usual.

Yes I do hear them at 3000RPM but I'm also used to work in a silent environment. When I watch a video while doing nothing else, it ramps up to 3300RPM and temps goes up to constant 65°C. It annoys me enough that I prefer to use ANC headphones at this point. Returning the macbook on June 2nd.

Do you use Chrome? If so, do you have hardware acceleration selected? Turning that off in my Chrome settings made a huge difference for me.

It's been like a different computer since I updated last night. Fans in the mid 2ks, so much quieter overall. Same wattage for the dGPU. Its seems like they might have adjusted the fan profiles vs fixing the AMD issues. So far no crashes but I never had one before (I'm only on day 13 w mine and debating returning).
