Would be nice if MacRumors stated both the memory *and* storage amount for every model (not just the 16-Inch M3 Pro MacBook Pro models) to save people the trouble of having to click each link to find out most are 8GB.

No one, neither publication nor vendor, ever says 8GB anywhere. The vendor page may have it hidden somewhere exactly once. Everyone is clearly ashamed of the base 8GB RAM. Yet people still came out of the woodwork defending it.

Have been 899 at Amazon a few months ago, the M2 Air.
Really want a silver M2 Air but 1)I don’t need it, and 2)I know I’d’ve wished I’d waited come M3 Air
I think Apple is using a staggered approach for the MacBook Air. They probably won't get M3 until the MacBook Pro's move to M4.

With the measly amount of SSD storage on these Macs, B&H's deal for the 16" M1 Max 10 core/32 core GPU with 64GB/4TB is still the one to beat for $2999.

That would make a lot of sense to differentiate consumer from Pro by separating the generations, and it would certainly make me feel better about my 2-month old 15" M2 Air. However, I think the existence of the M3 iMac suggests otherwise.

I think the only reason we haven't seen M3 Air is that chip yields might not support the kinds of numbers needed in the supply chain to meet demand for what is certainly Apple's most popular laptop.

Currently chatting with BBY support. I should get a $200 credit for the M3Pro that I purchased at launch. Worth a try! That's $200!

eta: Yep! They're applying the $200 credit right now! Sweet!!

Wish I could use my Apple gift card from Trade In at Best Buy, those are pretty nice prices for the new Macbook Pros. May just go for an M1 Pro instead, as much as I want the M3 the M1 seems fine, and I'll probably upgrade again when the OLED screens drop in a year or two anyways. (or maybe 3 years I haven't kept up on that timeline)

@Kal Madda Fancy rehashing our debate with a different crowd of people? 😉
