I don't know what people are expecting visiting a website with a name that ends in rumors. Posting leaks is a job well done by site staff, i don't understand all the frustration every time a new article comes up that talks about the iPhone 6, it's been that way a long time ago, get used to it.

Agreed. The constant negativity and b i t c h i n g that appears to be settling in on here is becoming insufferable.

I hope nobody is taking this crap seriously; there's no way the next iPhone will have a backlight! This is getting ridiculous… ;)

Of legitimate interest is the thinness of the backlight's side borders, which could translate to a very thin front face bezel, possibly even reduced to a bezel-less design with the aid of a rounded edge (like the original iPhone).

This seems to be consistent with the more detailed internals shown here:

IF that is somehow the internals, that's clearly a developer board running the components, not an actual shell of the phone.

As for the caption underneath regarding the lightning connector…thats just ****ing stupid, it's a dev board, it's going to have standard debugging I/O.

Assuming they stick with the iPhone 5's approximate 16x9 format it would be 2.25" x 4"

That's what I'm looking for, thank you. By the pythagorean theorem, that comes up with a 4.59" screen diagonal. Any thoughts on the 5.5" screen dimensions?

Full disclosure, I'm gonna tape off the screen on my iPad and try to read some articles to see if the bigger screen sizes are going to be worth the upgrade (for me!)...

A 4.7" 16:9 screen is 4.10x2.30
A 5.5" 16:9 screen is 4.79x2.70

Unless you manage to increase the pixel density and the resolution of the iPad that wouldn't be a fair test.

This back light component clearly has a yellow tint to it, I'm taking it back to the Apple store tomorrow.

While I agree that the pixel density won't be the same, I personally can't see the pixels in any of these "retina" screens. Text in the smallest font size that I can read on my iPad looks just as good at that size on my iPhone (of course, I'm not talking about any non-retina devices).

My biggest issue is reading certain pdf's on my iPhone. The screen is just so small that I end up scrolling a lot if I keep the PDF "zoomed out" to a size that is easy on my eyes. On the iPad I can have the PDF at a size I don't have to scroll at all (even on the iPad Mini). The 5.5 inch iPhone may be big enough such that I don't have to zoom out...maybe...that's why I'm gonna do my little test. Of course, I could just wait until they show up at the Apple store to test my PDFs on the real devices, but where's the fun in that :p

Here is an easy way to visualize, but I know you want to try this hands on...

iPad Air:

http://displaywars.com/9,7-inch-4x3-vs-5,5-inch-16x9

iPad mini vs 5.5" iPhone: http://displaywars.com/7,9-inch-4x3-vs-5,5-inch-16x9

That's a very nice tool you linked to...thanks Darkslide29!

People complain when there aren't any leaks and people complain when there are leaks. Can't satisfy everybody, there will always be whiners.

While that hand could be huge, if this is indeed a picture of a 4.7" iPhone screen part, take note of how small it is in that hand. Then imagine the bezel-less iPhone 6. Those "must be able to reach the entire screen with one hand" people should be able to see that- at least- the pictured hand looks like it could do that pretty easily.

Then, maybe imagine the 6 with a virtualized home button so that the top and bottom bezel could be shrunk to a minimum to fit speaker, camera and thumbprint scanner. Wow! Both bigger (screen) and smaller (phone) at the same time.

Give me a different OS and I am in :)

Just kidding...kind of. I am a sucker for widgets and no thumb print scanner.
