What is the point of taking a photo (also the existence of this article), not to provide details of it's capacity?

I get the feeling that Apple will announce the new iPhone for WWDC instead of waiting till September.

Why Apple releasing these controlled leaks ? Are they genuinely this nervous ?

Why is mdridwan47 assuming things? Is he genuinely this nervous?

It could be that the new iPhone 6 (same size as previous) is released at WWDC, and the larger iPhone 6 is announced at WWDC, but won't be available until September. This will give developers time to work with the new screen dimensions on their apps.

Yeah I think it's a possibility that the iPhone 6 is coming out sooner than later. They are obviously manufacturing it now. I don't see why they would hold it for 5 months. Most likely the larger iPhone, whether 4.7 or 5.5 will come out later.

Hah, complaining this is a controlled leak? Could be... but... isn't it far more logical that:

Apple is a multibillion dollar company. Manufacturing and preparation has to start months ahead of an unveiling. As soon as preparations start, hundreds, if not thousands, of people get involved... and than something can leak out.

Edit: and even if it is a controlled leak. I'm excited. Recent leaks indicate, finally, that bigger iPhones with higher resolutions are coming. I think that's a good thing.

Apple is building phones, not sky rockets. Production must start some month before but not in march-april when this part is supposed to be produced. The battery is not that kind of part that is difficult to produce so you must start a half year earlier just to meet the initial demand. The production of batteries is also entierly automatic and there no are very few people involved which mean that the production rate is rly high and high enough to produce milions in just a few weeks.

Other hint that this is not actual iPhone battery or it is controlled leak: the camera bluriness - even the poor chinease factory workers alrdy have 5 mega pixel cameras and this was shot with 0.3CMOS sensor in my opinion, which again, indicates its fake. Even a spy cameras hidden in watches in lighter that sell on the interner have better quality.

The thing is though all the leaks are of individual parts. These parts still need to be shipped to the assembly factories and then assembled, how long does that take? It could very well be that parts are starting to be made now for assembly to start in July. Then again the front panel leak from today appears to have actually been from a delivery, but then again this could just be the rumoured initial 100 trial manufactured iPhones.

Won't the iOS 8 beta show support for new screen sizes?

If so, does this make it more likely Apple will show off new hardware at WWDC?

Especially if an iWatch is coming later in the year. As people have said, the Q3 2014 is getting crowded!

How do we know these are Apple leaks? It's not like people who work in these factories don't have access to cameras or the internet. Note that we got zero leaks of the Mac Pro, the one Apple product not mass produced in China.

That's cause by the Time Apple showed of a Mac pro it was a prototype. And they had none in stock to ship. I am certain production of the Mac Pro started quite a while after it was first showed off.

By the the time Apple shows off the iPhone, millions would have been manufactured.

Its got nothing to do with where the product gets produced. Its the scale of production, the Mac Pro is almost nothing compared to the iphone. The iphone is now a manufacturing monster.... very hard to hide with so many people involved.

Looks kinda tall to me. I hope Apple understand that when I say I want a bigger phone, I mean I want a wider phone. A long thin iPhone does nothing to increase the size of text....

Sure it does. Go long enough and a full line of text can fit on the screen without being shrunk or wrapped. A wider screen would be advantageous for E-Mail and the like.

Yep, if Apple announce new iPhones, iWatches and new iPads to be released at the same time a product release of that magnitude could kill some sales.

October 2014 release?

This is a lot of leaking for a product not arriving until 6 months in the future.

Come on... the 16gb 4.7 iPhone 6 will be $200 on contract, and the 5.5 inch iPhone will be $300 on contract.

If there were no leaks you'd be like.... come on.. give me some rumours!

LOOOOLZ.

THIS IS GOING TO BE FREAKING AWESOME! Look at that battery, we're going to get some serious battery life outta this sucker when it comes out.

A8 Chip, Johnson ID, 2GB of ram (maybe), iOS 8... my mind is blown by how good this is going to be.

ONLY 5 MONTHS TO GO......

I'd say less than 5 months. If they have the trays and other hardware all set for mass production I could see new iPhones at or even before WWDC. This is a lot of stuff that is apparently production ready.

As for the RAM increase that is an imperative. The lack of RAM has kept me from updating both my iPhone and iPad.

iPad3, No touch ID on Air, iOS7 half-baked, safari unstable for months... Sounds a-lot like someone made bad compromises to me.

Lots of people complain about iPad 3 but I've had mine for years now and I like it. People can knock it all they like but it has been a good machine for me and heavily used too.

As for a Touch ID, it is pretty obvious that they had a production capacity problem and choose to deliver on the hardware that would most benefit. Since the iPad chassis will obviously support the Touch ID sensor I think it is safe to assume it is coming to much of the iOS product line.

looks like another boring keynote.

OS X 10.11
ios 8
iwork improvements
ilife improvements

iphone 6
iwatch
apple tv updates
new haswell chips in iMac and Mac Mini line up

My money's on hexalobe.

(Hang on, that's been done - Allen key)

Okay, heptalobe. Screwdriver sellers of the world rejoice!

I've heard they're going for unicorn this year.

oh come on they left it out on purpose knowing they'd get more sales. Its so obvious... its what I'd have done :D
