Well, this is somewhat embarrassing to ask, however it has been a few years since I have ordered a new iPhone, however this year I am upgrading. I have pre-ordered the Pro Max through Apple.

I am on Verizon. When the phone arrives from Apple, is it a real simple process as far as transferring service from my current IPhone? Is it basically just turn the new phone on and it knows what number to affiliate with or will have a few steps to go through. I don’t want to mess up the transited to the new phone form the old one.

Thanks!

This year they are using eSIM exclusively on the 13 series. So you legit just have to boot it up and let it activate. From an iOS restore perspective you can transfer most things P2P over WiFi

Thanks to each of you. Appears that it will be a very simple process. Thank you!!

Oh I guess it’s just Verizon 🤷‍♂️. My bad

You preordered? You can pre-approve but you can’t preorder until Friday at 8am EST Right? Just making sure you aren’t disappointed by missing a step.

Just because it says that you won’t get a physical SIM card and that your carrier will use eSIM, doesn’t mean the phone itself doesn’t have a SIM slot, or that it’s the same for all carriers.

Might be best to clarify that, as the comments read as “Apple are exclusively using eSIM for the 13 series” rather than “my carrier is exclusively using eSIM for the 13 series”.

Well yeah it’ll have a sim slot. My original message was just that the OP didn’t have to worry about swapping the sim and basically just had to boot it up. Based on it saying “new iPhones activate on eSIM” it seems pretty universal but could be just us carriers 🤷‍♂️
