Hey everyone, I'm planning on getting a laptop for when I go to University this fall and I just have a few questions. The one I'm looking at is the lower end 15 model, BUT with a 160GB 7200 RPM HD upgrade. After looking around the forums it is my impression that there are huge delays in ordering this upgrade. I was going to wait a little bit longer to order this, but if I want to get this at the very latest August, should I go and order now? Also, I'm planning on geting Windows Vista Ultimate. It seems like the best program to do this with is BootCamp. Off of Tigerdirect.ca (I live in Canada), I'm looking at this copy. This is an OEM version and I'm only putting Vista onto my laptop, not onto any other computers at home. I hope there are no problems with this? Another factor for me is an external HD. Right now I'm looking at a Fantom Titanium-II because of the FireWire support or a Seagate FreeAgent Desktop. The Fantom drive supports FireWire 400 while the Seagate does not. At the max I don't want to spend more than $150 (Canadian) on an external HD, so Firewire 800 is out of the picture (I think). Is there any advantage of having Firewire 400 over USB 2.0 as the type of files that I will be backing up are mostly documents and video. Lastly for a mouse I was looking at the Logitech VX Revolution. Has anyone ever used this mouse, and is it good/bad? Thank you in advance! Also what is the deal with the thermal paste? Is this problem on the new June 5, 2007 revision MBP's?
