Hello. I have a question that I haven't been able to find an answer for. I have currently AT&T with a 2 year contract, family plan with 3 cellphones. I have a regular samsung cellphone. I would like to get an Iphone but honestly don't need the 3g data plan and don't have the money for it either. I have wifi all over, at work and at home. could I buy and iphone (either 2g or 3g, preferable 3g) on craigslist or ebay, and remove the sim card I have on my samsung cellphone and put it in the iphone? I know it is possible since I did the same thing with the 3rd cellphone of the family plan, which is a nokia, and removed the SIM from the nokia, but put it on another nokia, and it works with no problem. My concern is that AT&T might find out that I put the SIM card from my samsung and put it on an iphone that is not in my contract, and all of a sudden I receive a bill with a $30 data plan added and a 2 year contract renewed. I know they can track the IMEI number and find out I have an iphone. At least with the nokia, I did it with another nokia, same model (although the IMEI number there would be different still), but at least it is the same model. is my concern valid? has anybody heard of somebody doing something like this with no problems with AT&T? now. I don't think I will need to unlock the iphone since it will be used with AT&T (I think I am right on this one). and I am also planning on using disable3g to avoid getting huge bills since I won't have data plan, (http://www.disable3g.com ). thanks for the help in advance.
