Alternate way to add 2 sata ports - will it work?

Looks like it should work fine. Don't know how fast it would be, though... Why not just get a regular PCIe card?

Assuming that speeds are in the vicinity of about 50Mb/s, there wouldn't be much advantage to using a mini-PCIe card over Firewire 400 or 800.
