It seems like a 3rd party, if not Apple themselves, could pretty easily design little strap end pieces with a replaceable strap pin that slot into the Apple Watch. That would take customizability to a new level. What do you think?

I hope so. I also hope that the bands are indeed interchangeable by the user and that Apple will sell alternate/extra bands. I am really divided between the stainless steel links and the Milanese loop.

As soon as the Chinese companies can measure the knobs on the end of the watch bands, there will be a zillion knock off bands.

Perhaps Apple will license the watch band specs (MfAW, Made for Apple Watch) to some high end jewelry brands (Cartier, et.al.).

The introduction video clearly highlighted that they created the bands to be easily swapped/replaced.

The market for bands is going to be huge.

I'd like to see simple slide in adapters for regular watch pins, so we can use regular watch straps like NATO, Hirsch, etc.

I just rewatched the video and saw that. Looks like I'll be getting the Space Black body with the Space Black link strap, AND the Milanese loop. I'll probably get a black sport band too. I wonder how much extra bands will cost. Hopefully under $30ish?

My guess is that there will be 2 or 3 tiers of band pricing. Something like this:

Sports Bands = $29
Leather Bands = $49
Premium Bands = $79
