So i love mplayer x, but i don't love that its just a poor job of offloading the cpu to the gpu.

All though i read somewhere, that its because of the intel 3000 hd, and what osx supports etc.

Ive tried vlc with much better results, however, i hate guy of that program.

Then there is plea, boxee, xbmc, but i would really like just a simple program.

    anyone got any tips?

    Quicktime + Perian?

Kind of off-topic, but just curious about your hatred for the VLC developer... something personal, or did I miss some news about him?

Unfortunately I think you are stuck between MPlayerX, VLC or Quicktime + Perian.

In my opinion no other media player can provide the same level of compatibility and performance as these three.
