Alternative to apple's DVD player

As the title suggests, I was wondering if there is an alternative the DVD player application included in OS X.

Preferably freeware!!!

VLC is your best bet.

NicePlayer uses the Core Video APIs and has a nice, clean borderless playback window with lots of hotkeys for changing views and such.

I've only tried VLC but it seems quite capable. Use it as a region free player on my PowerBook.
