Alternative to itunes

I'm looking for an alternative to iTunes, but................ I don't want it to use the iTunes library which all of those I've tried seem to do.

I have a music library (folder) on the second drive of my mac mini which I'd like to direct the media player to and have it pick up all the music and video files.

A free alternative would be nice bit I'll pay if it's good. I don't want to go into details of why I don't like or want to use iTunes anymore

JRiver.. supports FLAC, DSD, movies and many more cool stuff.
