Alternative way to import photos from iPhone to Mac?

Hi guys, i really dislike importing photos from my iphone to my mac using the "Photos" app as it is really slow for me, what alternative do i have? is there no way to see the iPhone like a removable device where i can just access the photos as files and copy them to my iMac?

You can try Image capture application or simple use Cloud storage that will auto sync your images to all the devices you want...

In the past I have plugged my iPhone into a Windows computer and it mounts as a removable device with folders containing the photos. Drag these to the Windows computer, then to a USB thumb drive and transfer to your Mac.

Kallt nailed it. The Image Capture application is the best app for copying/moving your images/videos from iOS to your Mac.
