What are the (better) alternatives to VLC for OSX? I'm a new mac user and I've been using players/codecs like Storm/KM Player on windows and they pretty much play anything I have. On OSX I've only got VLC and I dont like the interface plus it doesnt play some of my videos and some WMVs lag like hell on it.

If anyone could recommend an alternative media player on OSX I'd really appreciate it

    thanks in advance

You could try Movist. Theres also a fork of VLC called Lunettes, but i've never used it so i dont know what it does better.

I second the vote for Movist. I switched from VLC to Movist and have never looked back. Much more stable, plus you can switch between QuickTime and FFMPEG playback.

You could also download Perian and play most videos back right in QuickTime.

I do this, works great because everything just runs through quicktime.

I use MPlayer all the time, but I use MPlayer OS X Extended:

It contains current versions of MPlayer and FFmpeg. Plays back .wmv files great.
