aluminum 2.0 macbook or white 2.1???

lol,i love these questions. price isnt a problem but should i get the lesser whitebook or get the better alum macbook.geee i wonder lol. well i got the whitebook a few days before the alum came along.the only thing i want from the alum is the gpu which isnt dedicated but still better than x3100.i would have gone for the alum if i wasnt being so cheap lol.but thats okay.when i get anew macbook end of next year they will have better gpu's in them.
 
Aluminium.

It is gorgeous and gets dribbled over wherever I take it. I suppose also the fact that it's the newest model, like when a new model car comes out but they sell off the older ones cheaper... because they just aren't the new one!

The GPU tn the new macbook may not be dedicated as in it uses system memory (mega fast DDR3 in this case) but the Nvidia chipset is massivly faster than the Intel crap that was in the old plastic disaster books, the increased memory bandwidth and scorching nvidia GPU makes the new unibody macbooks the only mac laptops to consider, the plastic book should be consigned to the scrapheap where it deserves to rest, un-mourned by us, ex owners of that horrid chipped cracking, creaking POS............

You are making me laugh (example: scorching nvidia GPU which is integrated--LOL). You come across as someone who has to put down another's computer to make you feel better about yours. Kind of pathetic.

Not one bit. It looked like my Dell. What's even more funny, I went with my 10 year old son and he liked the Whitebook versus the AlumMB. You would think a child would like the 'futuristic' one, not one bit.

When I said the Whitebook is a Mac to me, I'm trying to say from 5' away you know that Whitebok is a Mac and the AlumMB could be a Dell for instance. I don't need the better graphics as people claimed, I have a 360, I will not play games on a laptop with a 13" screen. I use my laptop for basic duties.

So, shoot me for liking the WhiteBook. And if something happens to the WB and Apple wants to give me the AlumMB, I will play the 'race card'....😀


Say we're both at a coffeshop sitting across from each other and a hot chick walks in, I bet she notices the WB before she even glance at the AlumMB.

Yeah i know, i guess i had a bad one.......as a computer i loved it......it did all i asked of it..........

It was just the number of failures i had put me off the plastic case......

I bought the new Macbook Pro. I love it, but I still don't like the black keys with the alu. (the new Macbooks do look a lot more PC to me now--but I don't buy for looks). I decided I wanted the bigger and much better screen that comes with the Pro. I got a great price on the new 2.5 one as well. As I said before, I still love my Blackbook.

The girl would probably notice the WhiteBook first, then realize it's thick, plastic, and outdated. Then she'd glance over at the sexy aluminum MacBook and be mesmerized by it's Nvidia graphics and it's LED backlight.
Or, at least, that's what I picture. 😉

Then she would get a look at the unibody Macbook Pro and really get excited with its much better screen, graphics, speakers, and............

I know, I know. That 1 pound difference and a little bigger footprint is such a burden. 🙄

If you are a college student join the dev program and get the huge savings. You can buy the unibody 2.53 Macbook Pro for $1999 or the unibody 2.4 Macbook Pro for $1699.
 
Is there any reason you need to buy the macbook from Best Buy? Amazon has the 2.4ghz whitebook for $999 with no tax and free shipping, so you'd be getting more computer for your money if you choose to go plastic, maybe you can convince your parents to let you put that money towars a nice external HDD or some other accessory.
 
Im going to best buy because i got about $300 in gift cards this year from aunts and uncles for christmas and my upcoming birthday (tomorrow). plus i found a few unused gift cards so i have maybe $350 total.

I promise you, 'hot chicks' in coffee shops do not give a toss what computer you are using, unless you are producing your band's album on it, or post-processing your spread for NatGeographic.
 
i picked up the white mb for my gf as she does not need the extra features. she only needs it for her online classes and typing up papers.

i myself will be picking up the new macbook after macworld!😉

It's to good see this thread turn out alright. No flames, just good humor. It doesn't what Mac you choose, it only matters that you choose a Mac.

This is my 1st, but not my last Mac.

Let me add this, before I bought the WB, I spent time with it. I had access to one for about 2-3 weeks. I only used the AlumMB for about 20 minutes. So in its defense, it maybe 'better' in everyway, I don't know. I might go the AlumMB one day, but for now it's all about the WhiteBook.
