I bought the white MB just one week after the Apple Notebook event on Oct 14.
And I choose the plastic MB over the Al MB because I just couldn't justify the $300 premium. That is almost 1/3 of the purchase price.
I used the $300 I saved when going with the white MB to get CS4.
My MacBook only rarely leaves my desk/apt, so build quality was not my main concern - and build quality is a big plus for the Al.
Also, I don't play games on my MB, so 3D graphic capabilities were not that important too - if it were, the Al is almost a must.
And thirdly, the looks - I don't think that there is any official winner in this category. The Al Mb looks sexy, I must admit,..., but the white plastic MB still wins the "Miss MacBook Award" in my opinion.
