I have a unibody aluminum macbook that I bought from this marketplace. It came with no Harddrive, so I bought one today. It didn't come with any discs or anything, so I'm using my retail copy of Snow Leopard, which should be fine.

I go to disc utility and the guy before me said he used it for his macbook, then his HP, and so it's formatted to windows (FAT) right now. I try to erase and format (it has two partitions) and it tries to do it and when formatting and such to mac, it will stop and tell me that it failed and the "formatter failed" or something like that. I managed to get one of the partitions deleted, the other is still there. I need to get it formatted before I can install OSX on it.

What's going on?
