I like it on the Android. Time date email/text notification etc without having to wake the phone up
It is nice to have your phone sitting next to you and be able to see the time and date and notifications with just glance.
Always on Display is something I missed from my Android phones too.

I’m honestly surprised at how many new features Apple has been adding lately. There hasn’t been a proper “S” year since the XS.

This is a feature I didn’t care about until my brother bought an S10 and I saw it, I totally get why it is useful now so I hope this is true. It’ll be a nice bonus feature. I also might upgrade my series 4 watch to the 7 so getting two always on displays would be nice.

I don't care much about the "Always On' for the iphone as most of the time my phone is in my pocket or on the desk with screen facing down. I have my watch for that. So for me I'll have the "Always On" set to Off when it comes.
Would you say it as "Always off on always on"?

I wonder if they will do cut down widgets on the Lock Screen, that are always on…kind of like complications like on Apple Watch …..would be cool

Right. This would be really nice for the office when the phone is set on a dock on my desk. There’s been many occasions where I’ve taken a call or gotten up to use the bathroom and 15 - 20 minutes goes by before I remember to tap my screen to check if I missed anything. The watch helps quite a bit with this but when I’m caught up on a call I can completely space the vibrations I felt while I was wrapped up in something else.

This is one reason I've always used Samsung phones. Just love being able to glance down to check the time

My habit for checking the time has been with me since I was 5 years old and I simply glance at my watch on my wrist. These days it’s more often an Apple Watch with an AOD. If I had this kind of display on my iPhone I would probably disable it as it’s not really a feature I need. Nice to have for those like yourself though.

As far as battery drain, perhaps it does on Iphones. I can tell you emphatically it does not on my Samsung

Makes me laugh because all the moaners on here are gonna turn it off to preserve their precious battery life

I think as long as the option is there to enable or disable it, it’s one of those rather insignificant things we probably never even think about. The first thing I do with an iPhone is make sure all the tripe like animations are turned off as having a decent amount of battery for me is more important than a setting I don’t see the benefit of. Each to their own and like most things, there is no correct answer when preferences overrule anyway.

This would be great to finally be able to replace a bed-side alarm clock. All the people who use only the phone as an alarm simply won't understand (until you see it), but having a clock you can just glance at without taking any other action (like moving around, reaching for the phone, pressing a button, etc.) really is extremely useful (and it's the way humans have been using clocks since they were invented). I don't want to have to pick up the phone, and possibly get distracted by other notifications, etc., just to see the time.

And since the Watch already has this for a while now, even with it's tiny battery, it really shouldn't affect the battery very much. And since most people would charge overnight, it will probably be plugged in anyway.

Long overdue honesty, been on phones since 2015.

I won’t be upgrading this year, keeping my 12 pro max for another year,

120hz, gimmick, AOD, gimmick

Agree, pointless feature, especially when people are always next to their phone, one tap to wake or raise to wake, problem solved

AOD

Ngl I miss having it on my Samsung phones when I had a Note 8. I mean not enough to go switch phones but it was a nice feature to have. I guess with my watch it’s a less of a need but still

120hz screens are not a gimmick. Y’all notice it mostly in gaming and videos perhaps but in all seriousness it’s not a feature I care about. If we can have the option to keep it at 60hz I wouldn’t care because I rather have the battery life.

Honestly can’t notice it on a small mobile screen, can notice it on my iPad, I’d love promotion for the MacBook lineup, couldn’t care less for it on small screens.

Only reason samsung introduced 120hz on their mobile phones, so they can boost their crappy sales.

IMHO, 120hz is a gimmick on mobile phones.
