Beyond the Bedtime application, I'd just like to be able to schedule AO to turn off at night, and also when in Theater Mode. It bothers my wife when we're sleeping (I wear my watch all night). It should be able to be treated like DND, or maybe incorporated under DND as additional, watch-specific settings?
You sort of can with Shortcuts automation. Chose a time based trigger and search for watch in actions and always on display will be one of the options. Be sure to also uncheck "ask before running". The caveat is that it only works when the watch is connected to the phone as far as I know and I'm not sure how reliable it is. You can also set the trigger as "waking up" is you use the sleep feature.
It's a bit of a messy workaround but better than nothing. I just added a widget to turn it on and off manually.
Apple's paradigm has seemed to be one of putting the watch on the charger at bedtime, taking it off in the morning.
With the move to sleep tracking, they seem to be changing that to perhaps charging some before bed and again during morning ablutions.
The ability to achieve 36+ hour usage, especially with two outdoor GPS workouts, is well beyond the stated 18-hour usage metric. While it's great that you've been able to achieve it, I'm afraid you may also have set yourself up for disappointment with later and future models.
I would say yes. Mainly because the S6 Actually has a larger battery, But, it depends are you using third-party apps or any other type of measurement with stock applications. There’s so many things that can contribute to the battery life, it’s not just with AOD.
