No, as AOD is a hardware feature more than a software feature. Just like when it was released for the S6.is rumored for the iPhone 14 w/IOS 16.
Will the AOD be backwards compatible with the iPhone 13 Pro Max?

They could but won’tis rumored for the iPhone 14 w/IOS 16.

You need new hardware for this feature. Sure you can put always on, in an older phone but then you will get permanent screen burn in and massive class action lawsuits. That would be beyond foolish. They could but won’t
What new hardware would you need? Please elaborate. You need new hardware for this feature. Sure you can put always on, in an older phone but then you will get permanent screen burn in and massive class action lawsuits. That would be beyond foolish.
Battery drain will likely be depending on brightness level and how much information you want to display. It’s something I will turn off if it’s on an iPhone, not something I need with raise to wake and an Apple Watch. Don’t need the unnecessary battery drain.
they don't ,13 pro max has LTPO which can go down to 10hz which phones have running it now just fine. Apple just don't want it on a display anything above 1hz basically like the apple watchYou need new hardware for this feature. This "feature" is a function of variable resolution. In other words, hardware not software. If it does happen, it'll be exclusive to the new device. No way apple allows it in older devices.
It will likely work the way the always on screen works on the Apple Watch Series 7.I’m sure it will for obvious reasons. I’m not interested in using it personally as I don’t need information always visible on my lock screen. Hopefully it will be a feature that can be deactivated. For those that need it, it will be a great option no doubt.
It needs 1HZ to meet apple’s battery standards not that it can’t be done. For those who are saying an Always On Display needs a 1hz display. Have any phones before 2016 had a 1hz display? If not, why couldn't Apple have an AoD on every phone that has an OLED panel?
