Does anyone else have issues with their 6s when they say Hey Siri but the phone doesn't respond? I have to say it a few times before Siri responds, sometimes she is slow to Beep for me to talk. Is this normal? I've trained her to my voice in a quiet environment and I have a good American accent.

Anyone else experiencing this issue? Is my phone defective?

Siri won't always respond to my voice either. I did train it when I had a cold, though, so I've been thinking about retraining and hoping that helps. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see if it is a wide scale issue.

yes, happened to me a few times now. I've noticed that this happens if I've not used the phone for a bit and then when I say "Hey Siri", she's still sleeping :p
I guess this is the battery conserving brains of the OS at work. I thought this was just me. I don't really use this so much so I'm alright with a little buggy Siri.

I have an Apple Watch as well, and the funny thing is she is quick to respond to Hey Siri and transcribes what I say perfectly.

I was looking forward to this feature on the 6s, and so far it's disappointing me because it has trouble responding to the command. She also has trouble hearing what I've said after she does respond or the dictation has a higher amount of errors present half the time.

I also have a Moto Android phone with Always on Google Now - this device seems to respond instantly to "Ok Google" and the dictation is quite spot on as well.

I hope Hey Siri not responding half the time is more of a software issue and not a hardware issue and can be resolved quickly.

Keep the posts coming guys! Would be great to find out how big an issue this may be, or if it's limited!

This is a problem for me. It almost never works - probably less than 10% of the time. I have re-trained twice and that made no impact. It's frustrating.

I have this problem too. After it would come and go for the first few days, I was trying to trouble shoot it, I went to "train" her again, and it wasn't even registering my voice. The wave forms wouldn't move when I spoke into the phone. I restarted the phone and it started to work again. Wholly unreliable.

I am T-mobile. I have noticed several other little bugs in iOS 9.0.x too.

It works 9 out of 10 times for me. I can turn my radio down and ask Siri to set reminder or appointments all the time. My phone can be sleeping for hours and it works right off the bat. It has been the best part of OS9 for me as I seldom have used the 3D touch function. I do not wait for Siri to answer, I simply say Hey Siri and keep right on talking with my request! It even works from across the room for me.

Add me to this list. If I have not used the phone for a while, it will not work at all...even by holding down the home button (when locked). Once I activate Siri from the phone once unlocked, Hey Siri works for me again, even when locked.

For those that are reporting this isn't working, did you set the phone up as new or did you restore from backup? I'm only asking because I've had issues when I've got a new iPhone and restored from backup.

Add me to the list, works 3 out of 10 times, restored mine from backup and not setup as new.

Mine does this too. If I haven't used "Hey Siri" in a while, it just doesn't work until I hold down the home button to activate Siri. After that "Hey Siri" starts working again.

For me it only works when the phone is not sleeping (don't know if it's intended to be that way or just a bug). Kind of pointless if you ask me...

EDIT: Nevermind, I turned on the switch to allow Siri in the lock screen and it works now.

Siri always responds to me.. i think it's how far you are away from her, and how you say it, she likes me more than you possibly :)

When im driving and want to know what song is playing i'll just be like, yo siri, what song is this, and she's all like, it's blah blah blah by the backstreet boys.

She's amazeballs

Same issue but try setting the phone further away and saying training it to notice the 'hey Siri' from say table away

Did setting the phone further away and training her work for you? It's probably a software thing that Apple needs to fine tune quite a bit!
