I don’t know about battery usage. But I couldn’t stand the always on feature. I thought I was going to love it. I kept thinking I was getting a notification because it was lit up. So I turned it off for now.

I have seen very little if any impact. Last night when I put it on the charger I was still at 70% after being off the charger all day.

This hit me yesterday. Battery was at 100%. Put phone in pocket and about an hour later my leg was burning. Phone was on and at 44%. Somehow my leg when I walked unlocked the screen? Lol. 14 Pro. I turned the feature off for now.

I also turned off the Call after severe crash. Supposedly it can lower battery use as well due to all the sensors etc. time will tell. If the iPhone is indexing for so many days and this is first time I see something like this comparing to all the previous iPhones I think it’s not 100% right.
Did it help? After u mentioned it, it kinds of make sense that the sensors are working actively to detect crash.

To be honest have not noticed any difference still think the battery it pretty bad on this edition of iPhones.

Maybe keep it plugged on overnight while its indexing and such...I'm gonna do that when mine comes. I was also gonna update my current phone to iOS 16 and hopefully the indexing and settings info transfers to the new phone.

My wife's 14 PM had some really strange / bad battery life the first 3+ days. Now, despite AOD on, it's comparable to the 13PM. So there's something to say bout that.

I did not upgrade my 13PM to the 14PM this year but whenever I get a new phone, I usually leave it connected to a charger for the first few days.

i think it is more the current software than AOD. seems beta is solving some people's battery life.

Last night I turned AOD off. My battery hasn't been great since launch day but I just don't like the AOD in its current implementation so there is no point keeping it on. If Apple add some customisation to it so that we can have just the clock and widgets or something I will turn it back on, but the dim screen (like the Apple Watch) is just not nice IMO.

Meanwhile I'll see if this makes any battery improvements.
