I would like to have textmate to open all my text files instead of textedit. I can set each individual file to always open in textmate, but I would like not to have to do this for each individual file, but instead just have textmate to always open text files instead.

Find, a txt file in finder, apple+I to get info, change the open with to textmate, press the Change All button.

So what is the difference between textedit and textmate?? I have opened textedit for viewing certain texted files but it seems like the text app that windows uses, simple enough.
