I was like that with my mini for a day or two. I've been looking for the perfect case but I decided recently that it's best experienced without one :) I set it down on whatever surface. no use appreciating its beauty while it's inside a case.

I am a new first time, iPad Air owner.... for about 3 weeks now I guess. The thing is just so darn beautiful that every night when I'm done with it I make sure to clean it well with a lens/electronic cleaner and a microfiber cloth. Does anyone else do this? Am I just crazy? Should I just chill?

Nothing wrong with cleaning it regularly, unless the cleaning aspect takes control and prevents you from enjoying the use of the iPad.

Be careful with it. It isn't a priceless work of art. It is a electronic tool. Remember that.

Well thanks guys, I guess I'm not the only one. I LOATH screen protectors. I always remove them if they come with cases. They get just as many finger prints and dirt on them as a normal screen.. Plus you have to make sure it gets on the screen JUST RIGHT without bubbles and lint and stuff. Just seems screen protectors do nothing at all except cost money and add and extra layer for finger prints and scratches and screen imperfections.

Hehe - I totally can relate. When I first get a new device, iPhone, iPad, whatever, I'm cleaning it like a crazy person. But once the newness wears off, I clean less and less. Now mind you, I'm not one that can stand a gross dirty keyboard or phone - that's just nasty. So I get to a more normal cleaning routine once the device gets older. Now my husband keeps his stuff spit spot all the time. He has me change his screen protector every time there's a bitty scratch on it. And has to put his iPhone face down or he might scratch the case - (case has a lip to protect the front).

Enjoy your Air. It is a wonderful tablet. I've had 3 other iPads and the Air beats them all for sure.

Nothing crazy about wanting to keep your gadget clean, in fact, if I'm not mistaken, our smartphones an tablets carry a large amount of bacteria, due to what we may expose them to, our hands to and how rarely we clean them.

Think about it, you,use your iPad everyday, it should be cleaned often enough, we use clothes once and went then in the washing afterward, while your gadget is used daily without much cleaning.

My clothes are pressed directly against my skin all day. I excrete bodily fluids (mostly sweat) and shed skin cells and hair into them.

Once you drop it your OCD attitude will quickly change. It's always the first scratch that hurts the most.
