I have the option enabled for siri to work when i bring my phone to my ear, yet it only works if i hold the home button down. If i bring the phone to my ear and start talking nothing happens, the screen doesnt darken. I've tried it on the home screen, in safari, and in music app, without any luck. Ive also turned the phone on and off and turned the option on and off.

is there anything else i can try?

sorry to bump, I'd really hate to go down to apple right now, its still flooded with iphone buyers

Hmm, mine works just fine when I bring it to my ear. It sounds like your proximity sensor isn't picking up when you raise it to your ear.

That't the likely culprit. I was at the Apple Store earlier when someone also had the exact same problem. Unfortunately a trip to the Apple Store is in your future. When you try to call someone does the screen turn off?

There's been a few times when mine hasn't worked, but most of the time it does. It seems to be a little bit hit and miss.
