Or has the slide to unlock bar changed slightly? It looks like it has more of a highlight on the bottom.

I know it's the smallest thing ever I just want to know if it's me going crazy or not.

I didn't notice until now, but you aren't crazy... it is definitely more highlighted along the bottom edge.

The problem I have is I sometimes have to hit it twice to swipe. Never had this pre 4.3

Phone on the left is 4.2. The one on the right is 4.3. I think there is a slight difference. Although 4.3 does look even brighter on the phone itself. Both are iPhone 4's.

Are you using the same wallpaper for the lock and home screen?

before if you did the lockscreen had the same overlay that is on the home screen, I think it has now been removed for the lockscreen.
