Am I missing something with the calendar?

I am using iCal and I have several different categories set up. Is there a reason they do not show up on the iPhone when I create new appointments? Am I missing something or does the iPhone calendar just not do this? Thanks.

You can only choose one calendar for inputing events to from the iPhone.

If so, that defeats the usefulness of iCal on the iPhone.
