I synced my iPod Touch with pictures (I never used iTunes before, so I didn't notice there was another tab to add pictures on the sync page :p) and set one as the background, but I don't see what it is the background of. I don't have a wifi connection in my house, so is the background associated with that?

Ah. I just got the iPod Touch, so it has been plugged into my computer the whole time... so it doesn't show the background, instead it just shows the battery life. Thank you.

Also, is there a way to change the bottom buttons (music, video, etc.) to other buttons, like you can with the "more..." section on music? I skipped through the walkthrough video a few times, I must have missed it if so. I could have swore you could...

If you go to ipod the bottom right ico should be more click on it and then click edit on the top. The you get a list of icons which you can drag and drop according to your choice.
Hope this helps.

That's how it works for music, but can I do that on the iPod frontpage (safari, youtube, calendar, contacts, clock, calculator, settings; with music, videos, photos, and iTunes on the bottom)?

I haven't tried that and I am not sure if that could be done.
You would probably have to use installer.app to get that to work.
