Reading comprehension much?
Me saying MR is a good form of birth control is not a direct insult to the OP. Even if you try to twist it around it still doesn't work. Try again.

Reading comprehension much? That doesn't make any sense. Let me try: Writing ability much? < Does that work? Oh wait, is it a superior form of humour? Clever buggar.

No point trying to weasel out by saying it wasn't direct. You quoted a post from a young person and then said reading these forums is great birth control; there's no need for me to twist it round. Direct or indirect doesn't matter, the inference is clear.

Anyway, it's quoted above so people are free to make up their own minds. That's all I'm saying on it, because, well...I don't know actually. I can't be bothered I suppose. I just wanted to point out you slamming him for being insulting was more than a tad rich (but this I'm not surprised by). Easy target I guess.

The most sensible and logical post in this thread.

Only just saw this. Thanks very much :). It'd be helpful if the forum could alert people when they were quoted (just generally, not to ensure they spot compliments!).

While it's possible you may not have meant it that way, it was honestly kind of a low blow IMO. Call me thin-skinned or whatever, but that was kind of upsetting to read.

Which is null since he isn't asking for any more money out of his mom's pocket, she had already agreed on a certain amount and he is just asking for the agreed amount and then adding in his own money (and by own, I mean own. It seems he has sold items to earn it himself and it isn't an allowance or some other form of actually being his parents money).

That's true enough, but "spoiled" to many people is more about an attitude and less about actions.

Yes, he offered to pay for the difference himself. The reason I think he comes across as spoiled is because Mom offered to buy him a phone, and when he rejected the one she was going to buy for him, he wasn't satisfied with it. When she rejected his offer to pay the difference (well within her right to do so - she's still his parent), he got upset, and that is what comes across to me as spoiled.

OP: I'm glad you got what you wanted, under the terms you originally proposed, and I don't mean that sarcastically. But in the end you weren't happy with what was originally offered, and you weren't going to be happy until you got your way. The title of the thread asks specifically whether we think you come across as a spoiled brat; I wouldn't go as far as to say "brat," but I would agree with "spoiled" based on how you appear to have handled this.

I was kind of messed up (angry) when I posted the original thread, so here's what actually happened: Mom said I could get the eris for my birthday. I said fine. Then I asked her if she'd let me get the Droid if I paid the difference between them and the 3G. She agreed, and then two weeks leader (after letting me get really excited about it) she drops the "you shouldn't have a phone that nice" bomb.

the following morning, my friend ripped into me (he was in a really basd mood already but I didn;t know that) about the phone thing, and I felt terrible for the way he thought I acted and decided to post on here to see what you guys think and if I could make my arguments withstand the sppoiled argument, I had a case for the droid.

Of course, right now it makes no sense.
