Am I the only one happy with apple's keynote today?

Hi guys so I am a somewhat happy iphone 5 user. I upgraded from the 4s and am some what of a technology geek.

If you dont want to read my whole opinion on the release please scroll down to where it says why I'm happy.

I have an early upgrade available whenever I want so I was going to have upgraded to the iphone 5s. But I think the iPhone 5s is a major let down (will get to why Im happy)

Apple had the means to make it great. They could have made it have double the battery life like the ipad 3, could have made it have NFC for mobile wallet like samsung and androids have had since 2012. They could have made it have a 12-14 or even ground breaking 20 megapixel camera, but they didn't... They could have made it have a higher resolution display, new redesign, and other things to play catchup, but they didn't...

The point is apple is now absolutely not playing catch up here. They are almost dead in the water. They arent at the level their competeitors have been for a year, and I think its going to show in sales.

No one cares about a "slightly larger aperture" "or a 64 bit processor" Customers like redesigns so they can show off their new phones.

They like megapixels, not apertures. They couldnt care less about the processor.

Apple has a HUGE cash-flow so why not spend it making it great?

This Iphone is literally the worst release yet. And There may not be many more to see.

The iphone 5c is the biggest rip off of all time.

It was literally created to not over shadow the iphone 5s. No one would buy the 5s if the 5 were around for 100 dollars less because the 5s is 99% the same.

The 5c is the price the 5 would be but feels like a very very cheap phone.

So im happy because now my iphone 5 is worth much mnore on after market!

You cant get it anymore and its m,uch more worth it than the crappy 5c.

Plus it has a better color that you cant get anymore black on black!

This is the first time in awhile that the mid gen refresh looks physically different... Even though its just the home button and the colors, these can differentiate it from the 5.

The people that like to show off their new phones will buy it specifically for that reason, so I disagree with you there.

I go to highschool. Trust me on this one, when someone gets anew phone they are showing it off.

...And there's the problem right there. High school kids have done this for generations. iPhones were barely out when I was in high school. Then, it was iPods and cars.

Actually they CAN'T make it have double the battery like the iPad does because the iPad battery is much larger physically then the iphone's battery. There is no room.

There is no point adding NFC into the phone because NFC is ****. It hasn't taken off and never will.

They could have added more megapixels. Would have been smart since it would wow all the MORONS who think megapixels even matters.

I do wish it had a higher resultion display, but I can barely tell the difference from the iPhone to phones with better screens anyway.

I completely agree with all your points, I thought I was the only one with enough common sense to realize NFC is useless.

Way to much hype for minor improvements. Apple use to under promise and over deliver. Now it is the opposite. I still like the iphone. I have the 5 now and will probably get the 6 when it comes out. These press releases are kinda silly. Apple is to big to keep a secret, if they want to surprise anyone, they need to give details 3-6 months out.

What it does is give us a solid camera to use daily and the finger print senor will be good. A siri type upgrade.

Do you think people line up for days for the newest phone, or drive cars that they really can't afford because they NEED to? No, it's to impress other shallow people, and there are A LOT of shallow people in the world.

I kinda agree with the OP. Here I was worried that my iPhone 5 (I no longer use since I upgraded to Android) would be worth less today than yesterday.

But now that Apple has done what Apple does best, they have really taken away choices from their customers and you get to choose either a cheap plastic iphone or a 5S.

I think, if anything, the value of the 5 is probably the same after today, as people who are not out of contract aren't going to want to pay full price for a 5S and if offered a nice glass and metal iPhone 5, or a new plastic 5C, it would still have value.

True. But then it's not a particularly good camera is it? LCD for flash is ***** and ineffective past 1.5m.

A few things, first you are confused in so many different ways.

First the ipad 2 to three the battery size doubled. Although it did take up slightly more space the actual battery technology advanced incredibly. The battery on the ipad 3 is about 70% more dense than that on the iphone 5. Thats because technology advances over time, apple just chooses to not.

Next about nfc. It is not close to useless, a mobile wallet with a fingerprint sensor would be incredible. People would flock to buy it. Also you are saying its useless but I assume youve never used it. Apple as a company used to bring new things to the market. Before the iphone 4 came out it would have been you that was saying a retina display is useless.

Or before the retina macs came out you may have said retina on macs was pointless, or that siri was pointless. But then apple made it happen, and now people love all of those features.

If apple had released nfc people would love it, and it will take off, gogle just hasnt done a good enough job of integrating it.

Third, megapixels do matter, Its like saying that a higher res screen doesnt matter, oh wait you said that...

To be honest I wouldnt care if apple kept it to 8 megapixels but made the lense twice as big, but it got 15% bigger! Thats nothing it literally wasnt a camera upgrade!

Next, the screen sucks on the iphone, Ive always been able to see pixels.

The new android 1080p phones I actually cant, and before u start talking about retina nonsense, retina displays are actually what you cant see after age 55.

So keep talking, anyway Ive just disproved all of your points so go on about your merry day, and keep telling apple its ok to not innovate.

Ha not really man. Some of us still rocked prepaid phones. We just didn't care who had a better one lol. There are more things to worry about then phones
