It's now Wednesday, and yet no shipping email with a tracking # or anything.

Am I the only one?

I tracked the package on UPS and it says delivery by 9/21..but I find it weird nothing as been sent from Apple..

I ordered mine via carrier, and they haven't sent a shipping email yet, either. I'm hoping it'll come today, though. I wouldn't worry about, tbh. As long as you ordered within that first hour-ish, you should be able be getting it on Friday.

No shipping email for me either. My iP5 is sitting in the UPS facility in Louisville after its arduous journey from China. Still scheduled for Friday delivery though.

In the phrase "preparing for shipping", perhaps they meant that the phone was in the process of psyching itself up for the trip. After a day or two in China, they gave up waiting and sent it anyway.

I havent gotten a shipping email. I've been tracking it through UPS the entire time though. Delivery for 9/21

i called att and was very nice and i was told the tracking number ...comming from fed ex....
but it will be here tomorrow (thurs) is what i was told

Yup, they singled you out of everyone. They said lets screw over that guy!

Word is, and it makes perfect sense... Apple is not releasing the information until it can batch most if not all shipments at once. After all, stuff is still being processed. And, word is... they have an agreement with FEDEX and UPS to not release tracking numbers as those systems would be slammed with people checking for updates. The crazies here are hitting them enough. Imagine a million "regular" people slamming it.

They should at least inform us that our purchase is in transit which for many of us it is

Nothing from Apple

No shipping email and Apple.com still states it is preparing for shipping.

UPS My Choice shows it en route for delivery Friday morning though :)

YES you are the only one of 2 million people. Doesn't that sound ridiculous? That's because it is.

The phones are overnighted, which means they won't actually get shipped till tomorrow.

They're strategically holding them in Louisville so drivers at the local hub don't mistakenly put them on their truck for delivery.
BWhat? Is this ups insider info? Lol
How bout just put them on the darn plane to ny yesterday #winningstrategy

If my hunch is correct and having worked in logistics for a little while, I think it is, they've staged the iPhones in either Anchorage or Louisville for UPS and Memphis or Ohio for FedEx. This makes sense, UPS and FedEx have massive hubs in these places so, put them at the warehouse in the hub, wait then get them out on Thursday night. This makes more sense than flying them in from China on Thursday (they have to clear customs) and it makes more sense then giving them to local distribution points since they are staffed by lowly delivery people and can't be told to hold packages until Friday.

Just a guess at what's going on... That said, yeah... I haven't gotten an email yet either and I would like to officially know my iPhone is in Alaska instead of just unofficially knowing it. I don't know what the difference is, but I would feel better.
