How is the skin on your hand? Calloused? Peeling?

I have eczema in the winter, and my touchID sensor did what yours did all winter long. I had to add a new fingerprint every day. In the spring and summer when my skin is good, it works consistently and I do not need to readd it.

i am blessed with no issues with my skin. hands don't get dry or change season to season. also living in arizona probably helps.

My mom's doesn't work well but mine is brilliant. She has had hers replaced and has a 6s instead of her 5s and it still doesn't work for her. She thinks it is just her finger prints. Her's sounds just like yours...works for a few hours and then stops.

On my 5S I had massive problems with one specific finger. I needed several tries to add the fingerprint because it would always state that the finger could not be read.
On my 6S all is good.

Mine is hit or miss. Mostly because I work with my hands and my thumb is always getting cut up, worn out, cracked skin, etc. Add an otterbox case and it only gets worse.

I can say my 6S with the second gen Touch ID is MUCH better than my iPad Air 2 with the 1st gen. The iPad can be infuriating some times.
