Am I the only one wishing for a "New Releases" section?

I know they have a "just added" but it's largely static and has anything and everything in it.

It seems really odd that AppleTV doesn't have a listing for "New Releases" to indicated movies that have just recently been released and added... very frustrating too.

You're not the only one that wants it, but I'm guessing it's not there in hopes that people don't notice how slowly they've been adding new movies (they're WAY behind where they promised they would be, in terms of number of movies available for rental.

I agree. I'd like to have this incorporated as well.

I agree with everyone, this is a significant oversight. I think the lack of it ties into the overall sloppy effort to maintain the genre's. There are still many movies that do not show up in their appropriate genre list. After looking at the top movies section I find it very unappealing to browse for something to rent (thank god for apple tv junkie!)

I think proper maintenance of the genres and a complete (ordered by release date) list of new releases will make a very big difference for me.

"Just Released/Added" in "My Movies" as well

    Hi,

I'd also love to see a "Just Released" or "Just Added" section to "My Movies" as well as Genre (or just add Movie playlists and be done with it).

When I buy a DVD I actually encode and watch it on the ATV rather than DVD (is that twisted?) so that I can ensure that it is up to scratch. Sometimes there is a bit of a backlog - more time to buy the films than to watch them. Anyway the wife likes a selection of new movies to choose from.

My other problem is where to put all the physical DVDs, Apple need to come up with a storage solution for that ;)

    Cheers, Ed.

I agree that a “Just Released” search parameter would be a welcome improvement. But a bigger improvement, it seems to me, would be the addition of an “HD” parameter with the ability to do an alpha-numeric search of just HD movies.
