Got my iPad2 (64gig att) and I love it. It's so much faster than the old one, but apps crash all the time, especially safari. Sometimes apps wont launch at all until I restart it and then it's fine for a while. I know this is a new device and thus this could be normal, but just wondering, am I the only one or are other people having similar issues?
I think it's iOS 4.3, not iPad 2. 4.3 seems to have broken the Gamefly app on both my iPhone 4 and iPad 1 -- it won't connect to the internet when everything else will -- and I've had a couple of app crashes that never crashed before.
So, I think I'd not worry about my iPad 2 until the bug fix for iOS 4.3 comes out, fixes things for everyone with iPhones and original iPads, but not for iPad 2s.
And, yeah, you may be the only person with an iPad 2. ;-) But with an estimated 70% of buyers first-time iPad owners, stock shortages are expected. If it was more evenly split, or mostly people upgrading from the original iPad, there would be more stock. But a lot of original iPad owners will wait a cycle, until iPad 3, and a lot of people who watched the iPad "revolution" with envy will be jumping in at iPad 2. That's going to mean quite a wait for a couple months, I think.
Me, I'm okay with stock shortages. Nothing will cure knee-jerk upgrade fever like a two-month wait before you can easily walk in and buy that upgrade. By then one's resolve to wait for iPad 3 will have become (mostly) impermeable.
****Oops, I just checked Gamefly's app and now it works fine with no app update whatsoever. Must have been on Gamefly's server end. Oh well. Now my original iPad is back to being super-stable. But, still, there are all sorts of issues with updated hardware and apps that might crop up and be easily fixed by an OS and/or app compatibility fix release. I wouldn't lament the iPad 2 as less stable than the original just yet.
