Exactly. E-ink is much better for extended reading than an lcd, in my opinion.
Fixed that for you.

It's not an opinion. E-ink causes less eye strain since there's no back lighting or glossy reflections.Fixed that for you.
^^ thats a good idea I'd be cool to have a discounted book price, if I read an ebook and then love it, I like to have a copy as well. If it was crap then *delete* never to be spoken of again.
and you know what could be cool? library could have free ebookson a loan basis I presume, though how that would work... they could just have many kindles to use at the library, or loan ebooks to your ereader.
I'm afraid you're just imagining things. I can understand preferences, but for your eyes there is absolutely no difference whether you're reading on laptop or iPadI'm the same way about laptop screens, actually: I wouldn't want to read novels on them.
It's not the technology that makes a difference with the iPad, but the iBooks software. They found a look that just works well on your eyes.
Haven't these guys Given up yet??? iPad is the future. Look at the ugly design and poor features of Kind-less. You can't play game, surfing net, listen to music, checking mails...etc with such device. The iPad is the best; I can read my ebook in generous 9" screen. I prefer to spend $400 for the iPad, unfortunately it hasn't released yet in my country.
Hate to break it to you, but when the iPad is released in your country it won't be $400.
The listing claims:
"Never Gets Hot
Unlike a laptop or tablet, Kindle never gets hot so you can read comfortably as long as you like."
They also claim that you can read in direct sunlight. The next thing will be that you can hold it any way you want.![]()
There should be no comparisons, the two devices are completely different, besides the fact that one is a hundred quid machine, the other in its lowest form costs four times more, even a tech novice like me can see that they are aimed at different audiences, one is a device that has a battery that lasts a month and is primarily used for reading electronic books, the other most definitely isn't, it has far more strings to it's bow.
About the only thing they have in common is that they are both hand held, if all you want to do (and it will be the primary function) is to read books, then the Kindle is by far the better choice, anything more, then the iPad is the only option.

Unless you've got a link to a study in a peer-reviewed journal, it is your opinion.
I now have both, the iPad and the new Kindle, the Kindle offers by far the most relaxing and better read, the iPad offers by far everything else.
Oh, having read the above posts I must add, IMHO of course.

"...the iPad offers by far everything else." Being able to view Anything in youtube, for example, is important to me. Job's iPad is a beautiful device but limiting...too bad, IMHO, of course![]()
