Have to share my happy retail story ...

So yesterday I decided I could hold out no longer, and I ordered a 12" PowerBook from Amazon (as well as Airport paraphernalia). Amazon right now has a $100 rebate on all Apple 'books. I have an Amazon.com Visa card, and I had $50 in promotional certificates from previous use of the card, which I applied to this purchase. AND, this purchase was large enough to entitle me to another $50 in promotional certificates.

Here's where it gets cool. Naturally, on Amazon, I paid no sales tax. Also, I picked "super saver" shipping, which is free. The disadvantage of super saver shipping is that it is supposed to take longer -- something like 7 to 10 days. BUT -- after placing the order yesterday -- it SHIPPED SAME DAY and I now have tracking numbers that show my order is OUT FOR DELIVERY NOW.

Basically, I got a boatload of discounts, no sales tax, and free next-day delivery. Doesn't get much better than that.

I'm giddy. By order of me, it is hereby directed that no work shall be accomplished at my desk today.
