This is not something I see my self using in the near future. I live near a grocery store and convenient shopping. I also have a vehicle so i have no difficulty transporting purchases. But with my imagination, I see this being used by a great many people. I see this marketing video demonstrating the use of this device for often ordered food items, but it can be utilized by anyone that wants to buy items that are consistently consumed (got to have the bar-code of the product to order more of it).

This product along with the delivery of the ordered products are a solution to some. There are many people that live in urban or rural environments that don't have quick easy access to healthy foods or consistent consumables. They don't have vehicles to transport purchased items.
I'm not stipulating that food service delivery is pointless. I'm saying that this product is.

I am confused as to what the $20 credit applies to. When you go to their details page you see:
  • Promotional credit only applies to products sold by Amazon.com or Amazon Digital Services LLC (look for "sold by Amazon.com" or "sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC" on the product detail page). Products sold by third-party sellers or other Amazon entities will not qualify for this offer, even if "fulfilled by Amazon.com" or "Prime Eligible".
and then the very next line is:
  • Promotional credit does not apply to digital content.
So what can I get for my $20? Can I use it to get a dot?

1. You have to use it on things where Amazon is the actual seller, instead of someone else.
2. It must be a physical item, and not software, songs, etc.

A very interesting product. While not necessary, it's only 20 dollars so a good deal IMO

That video was pretty cringe. Maybe when I'm a millionaire I can order mushrooms and a handful of other goods off Amazon Fresh instead of going to the store.

You won't have a choice because you won't have time to go to the store. It's either Alexa or another service or take out. But Amazon Fresh isn't really more expensive than in-store prices. It's just the selection is so limited. But delivery is free $40+ and how one gets out of the grocery store spending less is a good trick I'd like to know.

That may be true for some, but definitely not for many.

Some what? Prices? I find the prices are pretty much what local store sell the same item for. But I live in a high cost of living area. Maybe in a more moderate cost of income area it is expensive.

Exactly my point. I live in a low cost of living area (relatively rural Midwest), so prices aren't at all comparable.

I have two of these sitting on top of my fridge. Very clever, but hardly used. The prices for Amazon Fresh were pretty steep, and the selection was slim and inconsistent.

My dream of having a set grocery order coming every 2 weeks (similar to subscribe and save) went out the window pretty quickly.

Subscribe & Save items are cheaper than any item I could buy locally — often by a lot — and shipping is free. I have a set list of things I buy often arrive automatically at my concierge. I only have to buy fresh produce. Amazon is winning me over.

What Amazon Digital Service can I get that isn't digital?

Yeah. Besides, I'd rather buy groceries from an actual grocery store. I'd like to keep them in business, and they can deliver a lot faster than Amazon.

There's also the Stop&Shop Peapod delivery service.
I hit them up when I'm staying on LI and visiting family.

When we're in The City I couldn't be bothered, way too many excellent restaurants and bodegas to visit - which always reminds me just how seriously overrated Portland restaurants are! Heading East next month, a Legendary Mutton Chop at Keen's is on my bucket list. :sniff: Crap, now I'm hungry!
