I don’t see the point of a gps only Apple watch. You’re still tied down to your phone. It’s so much easier to have a cellular phone and just leave it on the counter as you take off for a run or a bike ride. Yes it costs more but the convenience is worth it to me.

I don't use my (first generation, GPS-only SE) Watch as a phone replacement. It's only a fitness device for me. (I know that gives away the fact that I'm not a serious athlete since its measurements can be off/inaccurate.) I very much enjoy closing all my rings each day, and even trying to get the badge challenges each month. My physical fitness is very good for a man my age, and I attribute at least some of that to the Watch's motivation. I'll even pop into the Mindfulness app for a few minutes when I remember it.

I could easily leave my phone at home for a walk or jog if I could figure out how to get Podcasts and Audible to sync better. Why can't I choose what specific episodes/titles to send to my watch in the Watch app? So I just take my phone, and it doesn't really bother me.

I still have a cracked screen SE (first gen) and see no problems with leaving my phone at home. I use it mainly for Apple Pay anyway. But if your more tied to having a phone around 24/7, the cellular is a no-brainer.

I enjoy being disconnected on my runs. I leave the phone at home or in the car and just take my watch. Most of the places I trail run don't have cell service anyway, from any provider. I take my inReach if it's a long 6+ mile run.

No distractions.

Im so glad they have the SE models around... I still have a series 4 but I really only use the most basic of features and so my next Apple Watch is going to be whatever SE is about at the time...

Agreed. During the Holidays, I bought the 44mm SE at BB for $200 open box. It was pristine...no issues. I use it for the basic functions: notifications, calls, short text replies, stopwatch/timer, and activity tracking. As a result, I don't need to carry my phone around the house, which is nice.

I must agree with everyone on this. I don't see the point in cellular watch. First I don't want to pay extra for the same phone plan, if I could replace my phone - fine, but I don't need additional cost. Second, the cellular watch does not last so long as gps, and for me that is most important. For the last six years that I had gps watch, I never missed cellular. It was a good daily driver, until it exploded :D Now I can't just to bring myself buying another one. I got tired or constantly charging all of my thins i.e. phones, tablets, computers. Now either I get something from gramin or sunnto (tho bulky.. :( ) or apple watch ultra.

btw, 190 buks for new SE I think is a fair deal.

Fair enough. It's been convenient as heck for me for an extra $15/month for 4 cellular lines. But I also generally buy a year old watch from swappa so the savings there almost pays for my cellular usage. As far as charging, I have a dual usb c plug in my night stand. Charge my tablet on a usb c cord over night, my phone on the same usb c cord while I'm working out or running and my watch while I'm in the shower each time before work, after workout. But I get that that system may not work for everyone.
