Amazon Discounts New M4 iPad Air Models by Up to $69

Amazon this week has brought back notable discounts on the M4 iPad Air, with a trio of markdowns on the tablet. This includes both 11-inch and 13-inch models of the brand new 2026 M4 iPad Air.

Specifically, the 128GB Wi-Fi 11-inch M4 iPad Air has dropped to $689.99, down from $749.00. You'll also find low prices on the 128GB and 256GB Wi-Fi 13-inch tablet, both of which we're only tracking on Amazon.





The new iPad Air features the M4 chip, C1X modem, and N1 networking chip, which brings support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. In terms of design, the 2026 models are identical to the 2025 iPad Air tablets, with an edge-to-edge display, slim bezels, and aluminum chassis.

It's amusing to see how Amazon can sell the products cheaper than Apple. Unless it's something I need configured, I just get it from Amazon directly. It's almost always cheaper.

True. But I got a pretty good deal from the Apple Store last week. $50 off student discount and $100 gift card for my AirM4. Was gonna get the pencil, but the gift certificate took care of that. Not too bad.

The 3% cashback on 12- month zero interest financing was good too. With the Amazon card, I have to choose the cash back or the 0% interest, not both.

It's a pricing strategy called loss leader, Amazon is trying to get you to create an Amazon account and potentially buying other stuff.

I've decided that there is zero point in owning a "professional" iPad, especially at these prices, and even more once the Air gets an OLED display. For that reason, I'm holding out on upgrading my M1 iPad Pro until the iPad Air goes OLED.

Has anyone else found that as the iPhone gets bigger, and the MacBook Pro was able to be more powerful with Apple Silicon in the smaller 14" size, that they don't use their iPad as much anymore? I'm kinda tempted to forgo upgrading my iPad entirely and just get the iPhone Ultra 2 next year if it has a telephoto lens. And if the new MacBook Ultra has a touch display that folds over, and can run iPad apps...you see where I'm going with this. Two devices are better than one, even if they are a bit pricey, if you can afford it.

I kind of wonder if the pure tablet form factor will become less popular in the coming years, relegated to being mostly toddler and retiree computers, in favor of hybrid devices? I think so, but I think it will take some time for the prices of these hybrid devices to become affordable in everyday devices (aka non-Ultra models). I think it's more likely to lower sales of the iPad Pro first.

That sounds like a great deal. I'm from France, so we don't have these percentages and cash backs here with Apple. It's a little less flexible. Amazon, on the other hand, has discounts regularly.

I've been genuinely enjoying my M1 Air and I use it daily, but for consumption and entertainment only. It is not my productivity device, so it's got a special spot among my devices. I wouldn't watch YouTube on any other device while cooking or in a shower, for example; or take my MacBook Pro on a short vacation trip. I do, however, take my iPad all the time.

And this usage is precisely why I never got a Pro iPad. I just don't need it. My Macbook is a Pro (I am in video production field), my iPhone is a regular 17 (again, no need for Pro, I've got a full frame mirrorless Canon covering my video and photo needs), and the iPad is a consumption entertainment device. I don't think I am the only one who uses the iPad this way and I definitely am going to continue having an iPad at home, but an Air for as long as they offer it. So I doubt iPad is going away anytime soon. It's too comfortable for content consumption and entertainment.
